Transport and Environment Europe

Make your next lift electric

Journeys booked through ride-hailing apps, like UBER.

Good for getting from A to B.

Seriously bad on air quality. And our health.

Everyone knows more journeys in petrol and diesel cars mean more emissions.

Yet even though we know the problem, our behaviour remains the same.

In fact, it’s actually increasing as we’re making even more journeys because of the ease and convenience of the apps.

Transport & Environment Europe wanted to put pressure on these companies to go electric. Or at the very least, hybrid.

So they went after the thing that mattered to them the most - their customers.

But rather than dramatise the thing everyone knows - that pollution from cars is choking us.

We dramatised the thing that they didn’t. That we are part of the problem.

The work was used in 7 major European cities to target as many ride-hailing companies as possible.

Including the biggest, UBER.

Who, as a result of the campaign, reached out and committed to 50% of their rides being electric by 2025.
